Item 8.01 Other Events.

On June 11, 2014, Stewart Information Services Corporation (the “Company”) announced that a settlement involving approximately 500 plaintiffs representing more than 90 percent of the total number of plaintiffs has been reached, pending execution of a final settlement agreement, in the Cuesta Litigation in California. (See the Notes to the Condensed Consolidated Financial Statements in the Company’s first quarter 2014 Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on May 1, 2014 for a full description of these cases.)

Under the terms of the settlement, Cuesta Title Company, Stewart Title of California, Inc., and Stewart Title Guaranty Company have agreed to pay approximately $10.53 million to resolve the state court cases with the settling plaintiffs. A copy of the press release announcing the settlement is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated herein by reference.
