PENN VIRGINIA CORPORATION ANNOUNCES REDEMPTION OF

REMAINING 10.375 PERCENT NOTES DUE 2016

RADNOR, PA (Globe Newswire) May 10, 2013 – Penn Virginia Corporation (NYSE: PVA) announced today that it has redeemed the remaining approximately $127 million, or 42 percent, of the original $300 million aggregate principal amount of its outstanding 10.375 percent senior notes due 2016 (Notes). For each $1,000 principal amount of Notes, the redemption price was $1,061.31 in cash, plus accrued and unpaid interest, up to, but excluding, the redemption date of May 10, 2013. The other approximately $173 million, or 58 percent, of Notes were repurchased pursuant to PVA’s previously announced tender offer, which expired on May 8, 2013.
