Item 2.02 Results of Operations and Financial Condition.
On October 27, 2011, Oasis Petroleum Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release disclosing
preliminary results for the third quarter of 2011 and providing an updated financial outlook for
the fiscal year 2011. A copy of the press release is furnished herewith as Exhibit 99.1.
The information furnished pursuant to this Item 2.02, including Exhibit 99.1, shall not be deemed
to be “filed” for the purposes of Section 18 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended,
and will not be incorporated by reference into any filing under the Securities Act of 1933, as
