Caterpillar and Bucyrus Receive Hart-Scott-Rodino Second Request

SOUTH MILWAUKEE, Wis. (January 19, 2011) Bucyrus International, Inc. (Nasdaq: BUCY) announced that Caterpillar Inc. and Bucyrus each received earlier today a request for additional information and documentary material from the Antitrust Division of the United States Department of Justice in connection with the previously announced acquisition of Bucyrus by Caterpillar. This action, often referred to as a second request, is a part of the process under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976. Completion of the acquisition remains subject to the expiration or termination of the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act and other customary closing conditions.
