Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure.
On September 25, 2018, Nelnet, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release entitled “Nelnet Withdraws Application for Industrial Bank Charter with the FDIC and the Utah Department of Financial Institutions.” A copy of the press release is furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this report.

Item 8.01 Other Events.
On September 25, 2018, the Company announced it has withdrawn its application with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (“FDIC”) and the Utah Department of Financial Institutions to establish Nelnet Bank, a Utah-chartered industrial bank. The Company filed the industrial bank charter application on June 28, 2018.
