Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
On July 15, 2015, Joseph H. James, Jr. retired from his position as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Eastern Virginia Bankshares, Inc. (the “Company”) and of EVB, the Company’s wholly owned banking subsidiary. Mr. James previously announced his intent to retire from these positions, as reported by the Company on a Form 8-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on September 17, 2014. Following his retirement, Mr. James will continue as a part-time non-executive employee of EVB to assist with select projects related to EVB’s operations and facilities.
