On April 28, 2015, Kousuke Nakata, a member of the Board of Directors of MediciNova, Inc. (the “Company”), formally advised the Company that Kissei Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. had determined not to have him stand for re-election when his current term expires at the 2015 annual meeting of stockholders. Kissei’s decision is not due to any disagreement with the Company on any matter relating to the Company’s operations, policies or practices.
