Item 7.01.   Regulation FD Disclosure.

On September 23, 2014, NorthStar Realty Finance Corp. (the “Company”) submitted a letter to the MSCI US REIT Index (RMZ) (the “Index”) relating to the Company’s industry classification and potential inclusion in the Index. A copy of the letter is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and incorporated herein by reference.
