Item 8.01. Other events.
On May 13, 2013, Transcept Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (“Transcept”) was notified by Purdue Pharmaceutical Products L.P. (“Purdue”), the Transcept U.S. commercialization partner for Intermezzo® (zolpidem tartrate) sublingual tablet C-IV, that Purdue would no longer be utilizing the 90 contract sales representatives dedicated exclusively to promoting Intermezzo. Commercialization of Intermezzo will continue to be supported by Purdue’s established analgesic sales force, consisting of approximately 525 sales representatives, and other select promotional activities.
