Item 5.02. Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
On February 28, 2013, AVX Corporation (NYSE: AVX) announced that effective April 1, 2013, John Lawing, currently Vice President of Advanced Products, will be promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer reporting to John Gilbertson, Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Lawing has been Vice President of Advanced Products since 2005, Divisional Vice President of Advanced Products from 2002 to 2005 and Divisional Vice President of Leaded Products from 1997 to 2002. Prior to 1997, Mr. Lawing held Engineering, Technical, Operational and Plant management positions. Mr. Lawing has been with the Company since 1981.
