On September 10, 2012, Southern Copper Corporation (the “Company”) learned of the resignation of Mr. Alberto de la Parra Zavala as a director of the Company. Mr. de la Parra resigned to pursue other professional opportunities and there were no disagreements with the Company or management. The Company expressed its gratitude and recognition to Mr. de la Parra for his valuable service to the Board of Directors and the Company.
