NIMIN ENERGY ANNOUNCES

CLOSING OF SALE OF WYOMING ASSETS

Carpinteria, CA – June 28, 2012 – NiMin Energy Corp. (TSX:NNN) (OTCBB and OTCQX:NEYYF) (the “Company” or “NiMin”) announced that it has completed its previously announced sale of its assets in Wyoming’s Big Horn Basin (the “Wyoming Assets”) to BreitBurn Operating L.P., a wholly-owned subsidiary of BreitBurn Energy Partners L.P. (NASDAQ: BBEP), for total cash consideration of approximately US$93 million, being the original purchase price of approximately US$98 million less approximately US$5 million adjusted to account for preliminary purchase price adjustments due to the April 1, 2012 effective date of the acquisition, and subject to post close adjustments.

Further information regarding the liquidation and dissolution of the Company, approved at the annual and special meeting of shareholders of NiMin held on June 26, 2012, and the amount and timing of distributions to shareholders will be provided in subsequent press releases as such information becomes available.
