Effective October 1, 2010, Lowell C. McAdam will become President and Chief Operating Officer of Verizon Communications Inc. (Verizon).
Effective November 1, 2010, Francis J. Shammo will become Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Verizon.
Compensation arrangements associated with these appointments have not yet been determined.
A press release announcing these appointments is filed as Exhibit 99 hereto and is incorporated herein by reference.
From time to time Verizon may have employees who are related to our executive officers. Mr. Shammo has a brother-in-law who is employed by one of Verizon’s subsidiaries and earned approximately $317,000 in 2009, which was commensurate with that of other employees in similar positions.
