Item 7.01.    Regulation FD Disclosure.

On May 1, 2018, Stone Energy Corporation (“Stone” or the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that the Company closed the transaction contemplated under the previously announced Asset Purchase Agreement dated April 27, 2018 to purchase a 100% working interest in the Ram Powell Unit, and related assets, from Shell Offshore Inc., Exxon Mobil Corporation, and Anadarko US Offshore LLC. The press release is furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated by reference into this Item 7.01.
