EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Form 8-K/A is being filed to amend the Current Report on Form 8-K filed by Bar Harbor Bankshares (the “Company”) on January 25, 2018 (the “Initial Filing”). The Initial Filing inadvertently reflected an incorrect date of January 25, 2017 instead of January 25, 2018 for the “Date of Report (Date of earliest event reported)” on the cover page. The purpose of this Form 8-K/A is to correct that date and no other changes to the Form 8-K or the Company’s press release furnished as an exhibit thereto are being made.

On January 25, 2018 Bar Harbor Bankshares (the “Company”), reported its financial results for the quarter ended December 31, 2017. The news release containing the financial results is included as Exhibit 99.1 and shall not be deemed “filed” for any purpose.
