Item 8.01. Other Events.
As previously disclosed in September 2017, Alber GmbH (“Alber”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Invacare Corporation (the “Company”), received a warning letter from the United States Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) which required Alber to complete certain corrective actions at its Albstadt, Germany facility, and provided for a suspension on importation of certain Alber products into the United States.
On January 3, 2018, FDA notified the Company that Alber’s responses to the warning letter are adequate, and that FDA is in the process of removing the import suspension. FDA is expected to conduct a follow-up inspection of Alber’s facility. The Company cannot predict the timing or the outcome of such inspection.

This Current Report on Form 8-K contains forward-looking statements within the meaning of the “Safe Harbor” provisions of the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995. Forward-looking statements are those that describe future outcomes or expectations that are usually identified by words such as “will,” “should,” “could,” “plan,” “intend,” “expect,” “continue,” “forecast,” “believe,” and “anticipate” and include, for example, any statement made regarding the Company's future results. Actual results may differ materially as a result of various risks and uncertainties, including the results of FDA’s follow-up inspection of Alber’s facility, including any requirement to perform additional remediation activities to address the violations noted in the FDA’s warning letter, or any delays in the removal, or any re-imposition, of the import suspension relating to the impacted products; additional regulatory actions or proceedings or the Company's failure to comply with regulatory requirements or receive regulatory clearance or approval for the Company's products or operations; and those other risks and uncertainties expressed in the cautionary statements and risk factors in the Company’s annual report on Form 10-K, quarterly reports on Form 10-Q and other filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The Company may not be able to predict and may have little or no control over many factors or events that may influence its future results and, except as required by law, shall have no obligation to update any forward-looking statements.
