Item 1.01
Entry into a Material Definitive Agreement
On October 31, 2017, EMC Insurance Group Inc. (the "Company") filed a Form 8-K to report that the Inter-Company Committees of the boards of directors of the Company and Employers Mutual Casualty Company (Employers Mutual), the Company’s parent organization, approved changes to the inter-company reinsurance program between the Company's reinsurance subsidiary and Employers Mutual for calendar year 2018, and to the inter-company reinsurance program between the Company's three insurance subsidiaries in the property and casualty insurance segment and Employers Mutual for calendar year 2018. Final regulatory approval of the reinsurance programs was received during December 2017, and the reinsurance agreements were formally executed on January 2, 2018. The reinsurance agreements are filed as Exhibits 10.1.4 and 10.1.5.
