                Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

On October 30, 2017, Howard G. Roberts and Mark J. Ross were appointed to the Board of Directors of Community First Bancshares, Inc. (the "Company"), effective immediately, to serve for a term that expires at the annual meeting of shareholders for the 2017 fiscal year.  Neither individual has been appointed to any committees of the Company.  There are no arrangements or understandings between either of Mr. Roberts or Mr. Ross and any other person pursuant to which either individual became a director. Neither individual is a party to any transaction with the Company that would require disclosure under Item 404(a) of the Securities and Exchange Commission's Regulation S-K.

Item 5.03 Amendments to Articles of Incorporation or Bylaws; Change in Fiscal Year.

On October 30, 2017, the Board of Directors of the Company amended the Company's Bylaws. Specifically, Article III, Section 2 of the Company's Bylaws was amended to increase the number of directors comprising the Board of Directors from six to eight, effective immediately.

The text of the amendment to the Bylaws is attached to this Current Report on Form 8-K as Exhibit 3.2 and is incorporated by reference into this Item 5.03.
