Item 8.01. Other Events.
On February 16, 2017, Ronald Rubin informed the Board of Trustees of Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (the “Company”) that he had decided to resign as Chairman of the Board of Trustees effective as of that date. Mr. Rubin will continue as a trustee of the Company until the next Annual Meeting of Shareholders to be held on June 1, 2017 and will be nominated by the Board of Trustees to continue his service as a trustee. In response to his resignation, on the same date the Board of Trustees appointed Joseph F. Coradino, the Company’s Chief Executive Officer, as Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
