FSIC II Reports Third Quarter 2016 Financial Results

 

PHILADELPHIA, PA, November 10, 2016 – FS Investment Corporation II (FSIC II), a business development company (BDC) focused on providing customized credit solutions to private middle market U.S. companies, announced its operating results for the quarter ended September 30, 2016. FSIC II will hold a conference call to discuss these results at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday, November 15, 2016. Net investment income of $0.19 per share, compared to $0.20 per share for the quarter ended September 30, 2015
Net increase (decrease) in net assets resulting from operations of $0.49 per share, compared to $(0.20) per share for the quarter ended September 30, 2015
Net realized gain (loss) of $(0.12) per share, compared to $(0.01) per share for the quarter ended September 30, 2015
Net change in unrealized appreciation (depreciation) of $0.42 per share, compared to $(0.38) per share for the quarter ended September 30, 2015
Paid regular cash distributions to stockholders totaling approximately $0.19 per share
Committed approximately $362.3 million to direct originations

Portfolio Highlights as of September 30, 2016

 

The fair value of FSIC II’s investments was approximately $4.4 billion
FSIC II’s portfolio consisted of investments in 140 portfolio companies
Core investment strategies represented 94% of the portfolio by fair value, including 80% in direct originations and 14% in opportunistic investments. Broadly syndicated/other investments represented 6% of the portfolio by fair value2
Gross portfolio yield prior to leverage (based on amortized cost and excluding non-income producing assets) was 9.9%, compared to 10.0% as of September 30, 20153

The determination of the tax attributes of FSIC II’s distributions is made annually as of the end of its fiscal year based upon its taxable income and distributions paid, in each case, for the full year.
