Item 8.01 Other Events.
On September 19, 2016, Ocera Therapeutics, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing the initiation of a Phase 1 clinical study of orally available OCR-002 (ornithine phenylacetate) in patients with cirrhosis for the prevention of chronic hepatic encephalopathy and provided an enrollment update for the Company's ongoing Phase 2b “STOP-HE” clinical trial of intravenously administered OCR-002.
