Item 8.01 Other Events.
On August 30, 2016 Mohawk Industries, Inc. (the “Company”) received $90 million in settlement of litigation related to a dispute with a third party regarding a contract that began over fifteen years ago. In connection with the payment the parties have dismissed all pending litigation and appeals with prejudice and released each other from all related claims. The Company also expects to recognize non-recurring charges related to the write-off of a trade name and other restructuring charges during the third quarter of 2016 that will offset a significant portion of the $90 million gain.
