On August 10, 2016, United Community Banks, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that its Board of Directors (the “Board”) has appointed David C. Shaver and David H. Wilkins to serve as Board members, effective immediately, until the Company’s next annual meeting of shareholders. Mr. Shaver, a qualified financial expert, will serve on the Board’s Audit Committee and Mr. Wilkins will serve on the Board’s Risk Committee.
Mr. Shaver is a certified public accountant and is currently the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Cost Segregation Advisors, LLC, a national income tax advisory services company.
Mr. Wilkins is a partner with the law firm Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP and currently serves on the boards of Porter Airlines, Mattamy Homes and Resolute Forest Products. Mr. Wilkins was formerly the U.S. ambassador to Canada and is a former director of RBC Bank, North America.
