8.01 Other Events

Quarterly Dividend. On August 9, 2016, Business First Bancshares, Inc. (“Business First”) announced that its Board of Directors has declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.05 per share, or approximately $352,000 in the aggregate, to be paid to the holders of Business First’s common stock. The dividend will be paid on August 31, 2016, or as soon as practicable thereafter, to common shareholders of record as of August 15, 2016.
