On December 31, 2015, Ronald E. Deal and John P. Howe III, M.D. retired from the board of directors of BB&T Corporation (“BB&T”) pursuant to BB&T’s director retirement policy.
Effective January 1, 2016, the board designated Jennifer S. Banner as BB&T's lead director, succeeding Mr. Deal in that role upon his retirement.
