Item 8.01    Other Events.
On December 29, 2015, in the arbitration initiated in March 2012 by LG Electronics, Inc. (“LG”) against InterDigital, Inc.’s wholly owned subsidiaries InterDigital Technology Corporation, IPR Licensing, Inc. and InterDigital Communications, LLC (now InterDigital Communications, Inc.), the arbitration tribunal issued its final award.  LG had sought a declaration that it held a continuing license to certain technology owned by InterDigital under the parties’ patent license agreement dated January 1, 2006 (the “PLA”).  Rejecting LG’s arguments, the arbitration tribunal found that LG’s license with respect to 3G products under the PLA had terminated as of December 31, 2010, at the expiration of the PLA’s five-year term, and that only LG’s paid-up license with respect to 2G-only products survived the expiration of the term.
