The First Bancorp, Inc. today announced that Carl S. Poole, Jr. has retired as a Director of the Company after reaching the Company’s mandatory retirement age of 70 years. Mr. Poole has served as a Director of the Company since its organization in 1985 and has served as a Director of the The First, N.A. (the Company’s banking subsidiary) since 1984. Mr. Poole was President, Secretary and Treasurer of Poole Brothers Lumber, a lumber and building supply company with locations in Damariscotta, Pemaquid and Boothbay Harbor, Maine until the sale of the company in October 2005.
