Item 8.01. Other Events.

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston (the “Bank”) has agreed with certain of its defendants to settle its claims against them arising out of certain investments in private-label mortgage-backed securities, for an aggregate amount of approximately $50.2 million (which amount is net of legal fees and expenses). The Bank’s litigation continues against various securities dealers, underwriters, control persons, issuers/depositors, and credit rating agencies based on its investments in certain private-label mortgage-backed securities. For additional information on the litigation, see Part II — Other Information — Item 1 — Legal Proceedings of the Bank’s annual report on Form 10-K, filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on March 23, 2015.
