Advanced Disposal Announces Second Quarter Results
Operating cash flows up $27.9 year-to-date versus 2014 and leverage ratio improves to 5.95
PONTE VEDRA, Fla. (August 10, 2015) – ADS Waste Holdings, Inc., (d/b/a Advanced Disposal) announced today revenue for the three months ended June 30, 2015 of $355.2 versus $359.9 in the prior year period. Adjusted EBITDA during the second quarter was $97.3 compared to $96.2 in second quarter 2014 and loss from continuing operations improved $6.8 to $8.5.
During the quarter, Advanced Disposal achieved pricing gains of 2.5% and enhanced adjusted EBITDA margins by 70 basis points relative to the comparable prior year period. These improvements helped drive the $1.1 in adjusted EBITDA gains year-over-year despite headwinds from lower special waste volume and commodity prices. The increase in adjusted EBITDA represents the fifth consecutive quarter of year-over-year improvement.
For the six months ended June 30, 2015, revenue was $685.5 versus $681.1 for the prior year period. Year-to-date, adjusted EBITDA was $181.8 versus $173.0 and loss from continuing operations improved $14.9 to $19.3.
Advanced Disposal remained active in the acquisition market and has completed nearly $30.0 of tuck-in transactions year-to-date. The company also strategically divested of some lower margin business in markets that did not align with the company's long-term operating strategy.

RECONCILIATION OF CERTAIN NON-GAAP MEASURES

Adjusted EBITDA from continuing operations, free cash flow and adjusted free cash flow are not measures determined in accordance with GAAP, provides an understanding of operational activities before the financial impact of certain items. We use these measurements in the management of our business, and believe investors will find them helpful in understanding operational activities before the financial impact of certain items. Our definition of adjusted EBITDA from continuing operations, free cash flow and adjusted free cash flow may not be comparable to similarly titled measures presented by other companies.
