On May 19, 2015, William L. Gipson provided notice of his decision to retire from the Board of Directors of The Empire District Electric Company (the “Company”), effective June 30, 2015. Mr. Gipson’s decision to retire from the Board was not the result of any disagreement with the Company.
Filed herewith as Exhibit 99.1 is a copy of the press release announcing Mr. Gipson’s retirement, which is incorporated by reference herein.
