Item 8.01 Other Events.

On May 5, 2015, W. P. Carey Inc. (“W. P. Carey”) issued a press release (the “Press Release”) relating to the timing of the filing of its Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q for the period ended March 31, 2015 (the “Quarterly Report”) and  the release of its financial results for the same period. In addition, on May 5, 2015, W. P. Carey filed a Form 12b-25 with the Securities and Exchange Commission indicating its intention to file the Quarterly Report on May 18, 2015 in accordance with the permissible statutory extension period. A copy of the Press Release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated by reference herein.
