On May 4, 2015, Commerce Union Bancshares announced the appointment of Sharon Edwards as a member of the board and as Lead Independent Director. Edwards was selected by the board of directors as chair of the audit committee and to serve on the board of directors of Commerce Union Bank.
Edwards currently serves as Chief Financial Officer of Willis North America, a unit of Willis Group Holdings. She joined Willis in 1991 and was appointed Chief Administrative Officer of Willis North America in 2009. Prior to joining Willis, Edwards held various leadership positions. In 2013, she was awarded the distinctive Women of Influence and in 2011 was recognized by Business Insurance Magazine’s Women to Watch.
