On January 27, 2015, Safeway Inc. (“Safeway”) and AB Acquisition LLC (“Albertsons”) issued a joint press release announcing that they have received clearance from the U.S. Federal Trade Commission for the companies’ proposed merger which was announced on March 6, 2014. A copy of the joint press release is filed as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated by reference herein.
