Item 8.01 Other Events.
On October 7, 2014, Synergy Pharmaceuticals Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that it will present additional positive data from a Phase 2b study assessing plecanatide’s efficacy and safety in patients with irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C) during a plenary session at the American College of Gastroenterology’s 2014 Annual Scientific Meeting in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 20, 2014. Analysis of these data indicated that the study met its primary endpoint and important secondary endpoints, including the Overall Responder endpoint for IBS-C. The press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this report on Form 8-K and is incorporated herein by reference.
