Item 8.01 Other Events.
On September 5, 2014, Keryx Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. issued a press release announcing that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Ferric Citrate (formerly known as Zerenex) for the control of serum phosphorus levels in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) on dialysis. A copy of the press release is being furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this report.
