On May 27, 2014, China Automotive Systems, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that the board of directors of the Company had declared a special cash dividend of US$0.18 per common share, representing a total payment to shareholders of approximately US$5 million. The press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1.
