On May 13, 2014, Navient Corporation (the “Company”) announced that it has entered into consent orders with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (the “FDIC”) and the United States Department of Justice (the “DOJ”) to resolve previously reported regulatory matters, including compliance with the provisions of the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act.
For additional information regarding these regulatory matters and the contingency reserves established in connection therewith, see the Company’s Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q for the fiscal quarter ended March 31, 2014, filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on May 9, 2014.
The Company issued a press release regarding the foregoing regulatory settlements, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated by reference herein.
