Item 1.04 Mine Safety – Reporting of Shutdown and Patterns of Violations
Mountain Cement Company (“Mountain”), a subsidiary of Eagle Materials Inc., received an order at its Etchepare limestone quarry in Laramie, Wyoming on January 7, 2014 issued by the Mine Safety and Health Administration under section 107(a) of the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act of 1977. The order stated that miners accessed a blast area after a blast but before a post blast exam had been conducted. No one was injured in the cited incident. Mountain took corrective action and the order was terminated on January 9, 2014.
