On January 22, 2014 Community Health Systems, Inc. (“CHS”) and Health Management Associates, Inc. (“HMA”) announced they have received clearance from the Federal Trade Commission for CHS’s pending acquisition of HMA. A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated by reference herein.
