On December 19, 2013, American Express Company announced that it has agreed to settle two putative anti-trust class actions filed in 2004 and 2005 by U.S. merchants, who challenged certain terms of the company’s Card acceptance agreements. A copy of the press release containing this announcement is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated by reference herein.
