On November 4, 2013, Alleghany Corporation issued a press release on the subject of its 2013 third quarter consolidated earnings and the availability of its 2013 third quarter financial supplement. A copy of such release and financial supplement are furnished herewith as Exhibit 99.1 and Exhibit 99.2, respectively.
