Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
On October 10, 2013, the Board of Directors of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company (the "Company") elected Darren Wells, the Company’s current Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, as President, Europe, Middle East and Africa Business, effective December 1, 2013. He will succeed Arthur de Bok, who will become Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing Excellence. Mr. de Bok is expected to serve in that capacity until further notice, but at least until February 2014.
Laura Thompson, the Company’s current Vice President, Finance, North America, was elected Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, also effective December 1, 2013. Ms. Thompson, who is 49 years old, joined the Company in 1983, and has served in various finance and accounting management positions. She became Vice President, Business Development in June 2005, and was elected Vice President, Finance, North America effective March 1, 2011.
The Company anticipates reviewing Ms. Thompson’s compensation in December 2013.
