ITEM 8.01 — OTHER EVENTS
On October 2, 2013, First Community Bank, the wholly-owned subsidiary of First Community Corporation, issued a press release announcing its plans to open a banking new office located in downtown Columbia, South Carolina in the spring of 2014. The new office, which will be located at 1213 Lady Street, near Main Street, will give the Lexington-based community bank a visible presence in the heart of the city. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
