The ExOne Company Announces Closing

of Public Offering of Common Stock

NORTH HUNTINGDON, Pa., September 13, 2013 — The ExOne Company (NASDAQ:XONE) (“ExOne” or the “Company”), a global provider of three-dimensional (“3D”) printing machines and printed products to industrial customers, announced today that it has closed the previously announced underwritten public offering of 2,656,000 shares of its common stock at a price to the public of $62.00 per share. In addition, the Company announced the closing of the exercise by the underwriters of their over-allotment option to purchase an additional 398,400 shares. In connection with the offering, the Company sold 1,106,000 shares, and the selling stockholders sold 1,948,400 shares (including the 398,400 shares sold on the exercise of the over-allotment option). ExOne received net proceeds of approximately $64.8 million from the offering after deducting underwriting discounts and commissions and estimated offering expenses.

FBR acted as the book-running manager for the offering. BB&T Capital Markets, Stephens Inc. and Canaccord Genuity Inc. acted as the co-managers for the offering.

The common stock was issued pursuant to a registration statement on Form S-1, which was declared effective by the Securities and Exchange Commission on September 9, 2013. ExOne’s business primarily consists of manufacturing and selling 3D printing machines and printing products to specification for its customers using its in-house 3D printing machines. ExOne builds 3D printing machines at its facilities in the United States and Germany. ExOne also supplies the associated products, including consumables and replacement parts, and other services, including training and technical support, necessary for purchasers of its machines to print products.
