(b) On August 8, 2013, Patrick W. Bevack, President and Chief Executive Officer of United Community Financial Corp. (“UCFC”) and its wholly-owned subsidiary, The Home Savings and Loan Company of Youngstown, Ohio (“Home Savings”), announced to the Boards of Directors of UCFC and Home Savings his plans to retire during 2014. The Board has engaged Chartwell Partners to begin a search for Mr. Bevack’s successor.
On August 8, 2013, UCFC issued a press release, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit 99 and is incorporated herein by reference, to announce the planned retirement of Mr. Bevack.
