Attached as Exhibit 99.1, and incorporated herein by reference, is a copy of the press release of Panera Bread Company (the “Company”) dated July 23, 2013 announcing the Company's financial results for the fiscal second quarter ended June 25, 2013 and describing the Company's earnings targets for the third and fourth quarters and full year fiscal 2013.

Item 7.01. Regulation FD Disclosure
The Company will host a conference call that will be broadcast on the Internet at 7:30 A.M. Central Time on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, to discuss the Company's financial results for the second quarter fiscal 2013, earnings targets and business outlook for the third and fourth quarters and full year fiscal 2013, and preliminary comparable net bakery-cafe sales results for the first 27 days of the third quarter fiscal 2013. Investors can access the call at http://www.panerabread.com/investor. Access to the call will be made available for 14 days after the call and the release will be archived for one year.
