Item 8.01 Other Events.
On July 15, 2013, NorthWestern Corporation d/b/a NorthWestern Energy (NYSE: NWE) (the “Company”) issued a press release concerning an outage at Colstrip Unit 4, a 740MW net generation unit in which the Company owns a 30% share (222 megawatts). In the press release, the Company indicated that it:
• | Expects the unit to remain under repair for at least six months; |
• | Already has purchased power to replace the diminished energy from the unit to meet the needs of its customers; and |
• | Preliminarily estimates its share of the total capital expenditures required to repair the unit to be about $4.5 million. |
