On July 9, 2013, Mercer International Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that, after conducting a comprehensive assessment, its Celgar mill intends to reduce its workforce by 85 employees over the next five years, with the majority of employees to be affected over the next 12 months. Both hourly and salaried employees will be affected by the planned reduction. A copy of the Company’s press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
