Item 8.01. Other Events.
On June 28, 2013, Hampton Roads Bankshares, Inc. (the “Company”), the holding company for The Bank of Hampton Roads and Shore Bank, announced that Russell Investments (“Russell”) will add the Company to the Russell 2000® Index on July 1, 2013 as a result of the annual reconstitution of Russell’s comprehensive set of U.S. and global equity indexes.
A copy of the press release making such announcement is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
