Item 8.01 Other Events.
On May 20, 2013, Chesapeake Energy Corporation (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that Robert D. (“Doug”) Lawler will join the Company as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors effective June 17, 2013. A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
